ICANN Information Transparency Initiative
ICANN is truly a unique organization, and my work here has been multifaceted. I've been involved in many opportunities to create and improve on different aspects of the ICANN ecosystem of community engagement. Understanding the people who engage with this special organization was one of my first tasks, and continues to be ongoing.
Initial User Research
Diverse Community / Diverse Content
ICANN's primary principles of operation have been described as helping preserve the operational stability of the Internet; to promote competition; to achieve broad representation of the global Internet community; and to develop policies appropriate to its mission through bottom-up, consensus-based processes. Consequently, many types of participants engage with our website and applications for various reasons and whose needs are met by a diverse, but consistent UX approach.
The ICANN Content Publishing Ecosystem (Alfresco)
The development UI and UX for enterprise level applications is something that I really enjoy. Being the lead UX designer for our content management and document management systems as afforded me opportunities to tackle unique challenges presented by special requirements. One such requirement was to be able to integrate the document publishing process with our robust search system utilizing complex sets of taxonomy.
